UKHCA Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Poila Boishakh celebrations

April may be the month of celebration of spring blooming in her full glory in the UK, but as per the Bengali calendar and the tropical climate in the Indian subcontinent, this month announces the arrival of summer and celebration of our Bengali new year or ‘Noboborsho’.
Like earlier years, we clubbed our Annual General Meeting (AGM) for this year along with the ‘Noboborsho and Poila Boishakh’ celebrations on 13 April, 2025. The discussions at the AGM looked back at both the areas where we excelled in organising our yearly events including Durga Puja and also where all we can improve upon. The office bearers and executive committee members sought opinions from all the members and tried to incorporate the suggestions for planning the future events. The dates for events and pujas in the upcoming year were also announced.
As always, we concluded the afternoon with a hearty Bengali lunch or ‘bhuribhoj’. Our food partner was ‘Culinaaris’ and they served a feast savoured by one and all.
